James Jirsa, professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering
James Jirsa, a civil engineering professor, was one of four alumni selected to participate in Master’s Week at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for his work as a leading applications-oriented researcher in the behavior and design of reinforced concrete structures.
Since 1964, the University of Nebraska has designated “master” alumni to return to campus for a week to interact with students and university officials. Jirsa advised students on building successful careers and updated faculty on developments in his field. He currently holds the Janet S. Cockrell Centennial Chair in Engineering.
