Social Media
Our social media channels foster immediate two-way communication with our audiences, meeting our community where they are and providing a space for our followers to offer feedback and celebrate shared interests. These channels break down complex research and engineering concepts, highlight diverse stories and give an inside look into the Cockrell School experience.
UT Austin provides Social Media Guidelines which outline the standards and requirements for official social media brand accounts operated in the name of colleges, schools, departments and administrative and other units at the University. Please refer to the UT guidelines and approval processes for more information on starting or maintaining a social media account at UT Austin.

Tip: Less is always more. You may have 280 characters to work with, but you don’t need to use them all.
Like our other primary social channels, we use Facebook to share news, updates and stories of members of our community, with a focus on informative, pride-building and student-experience content.

Tip: Uploading images (especially ones with familiar faces) rather than using the populated image from a link will help to increase post engagement.
