This is an open house-style event for elementary, middle and high school students, as well as teachers and families. Participants in World of Engineering will interact with members of student groups (as well as Cockrell staff and faculty), discover how engineering impacts our world daily and learn about engineering through hands-on activities and demos.

Garage parking is available in the San Jacinto and Speedway garages, and street parking is available off Dean Keeton Street.

World of Engineering Programming

During the World of Engineering, participants can explore a variety of activities, demos, games and more provided by student organizations. Come learn about all of the different engineering disciplines through curated, hands-on fun!

Some activities this year include:

  • Build-your-own flying rockets
  • DIY lava lamps and paper airplanes
  • Grow your own garden
  • Tower building challenge
  • Ping pong fission demo
  • A robotics showcase
  • And much, much more!

With over 50 different programming opportunities to explore, an exciting new engineering concept is always just a few feet away.
