Donglei “Emma” Fan was one of seven scholars elected to American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering’s (AIMBE) board of directors.

Texas Engineer Donglei "Emma" FanFan, a professor in the Cockrell School of Engineering’s Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering, will serve as a director at large. The directors, elected by AIMBE’s more than 2,000 fellows, bring a wealth of expertise and passion to AIMBE’s mission of advancing medical and biological engineering through advocacy, policy engagement and professional development.

“We are excited to welcome these new leaders to AIMBE’s Board of Directors,” said AIMBE President Lola Eniola-Adefeso. “Their diverse expertise and dedication will help shape the future of biomedical innovation and advocacy.”

The honor comes just a few weeks after Fan became a senior member of the National Academy of Inventors.
