Dr. Thomas Edgar, chemical engineering professor, has been elected a fellow of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) for his outstanding contributionsto the fields of mathematical modeling, optimization, and automatic control of chemical and microelectronics processes and professional leadership. The IFAC Fellow Award is given to individuals who have made extraordinary contributions in the interdisciplinary field of automation and automatic control, in the role as an engineer, technical leader, or educator. Edgar is the George T. and Gladys H. Abell Endowed Chair of Engineering.
