The Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin is hosting its eighth annual Edison Lecture Series, this year focusing on robotics. The series will use robots as a platform to engage and excite youth from around central Texas about computing and engineering. During the past seven years, the series has reached nearly 22,000 students.
The series will feature interactive lectures by Drs. Christine Julien and Sriram Vishwanath, associate professors in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). The interactive lectures will provide middle and high school students the opportunity to touch and interact with robots, robotics and other state-of-the-art engineering projects.
The Edison Lecture Series — a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education Coalition program — was created to provide Central Texas students with more information about engineering education, and to inform them of the opportunities available when studying engineering at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
