Cockrell School of Engineering students participated in a wide array of quirky activities Feb. 17-25 in celebration of National Engineers Week. The annual weeklong friendly competition, known as E-Week at the Cockrell School, demonstrates the vital role of engineers in society. It uses humor, colorful visuals and — at times — amazingly creative and complex competitions to celebrate National Engineers Week, a nationwide event that runs concurrently.

A few of this year's events included a Jenga tournament, lip-sync contest, the Rube Goldberg competition, chubby bunny, "So You Think Engineers Can Dance?" and more.

The national event was started in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers to increase public awareness and appreciation of the engineering profession and its contributions to society.
