Interviews

Employers may host interviews during the fall and spring semesters through one of two options:

Pre-Select Interviews

Pre-select schedules utilize our campus-wide 12twenty@Texas recruiting system to streamline the entire interview process.

  • Post your position and collect student applications online.
  • Review resumes and select preferred candidates.
  • Allow students to sign up for interview times once selected.

This option is ideal for employers seeking a structured, fully managed process.

Room-Only Interviews

Room-only schedules provide interview space on campus while allowing employers the flexibility to manage candidate outreach and scheduling directly.

  • Employers contact students and arrange interviews independently.
  • ECAC provides interview rooms at no cost.

This option is best for employers who have already identified candidates or wish to coordinate their own process with more flexibility.

 Scheduling & Availability

There are no fees to participate in on-campus interviews.

Room-only requests are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Because interview dates fill quickly, we recommend reserving your preferred dates as early as possible through the 12twenty@Texas system or by emailing the ECAC Recruiting Team.

Information Sessions

Employers interested in increasing their visibility on campus and maximizing recruiting efforts are welcome to host an information session, an on-campus presentation that employers give students the evening before interview dates. These events provide an opportunity for students to learn more about your organization, increase your visibility and gain name recognition among students.

To make a request to host an information session, please log in to the UT Austin  12twenty@Texas recruiting system and click the “+Host” button on the homepage or navigate to the Events tab.

There are no room or equipment charges to participate in information sessions arranged by the Engineering Career Assistance Center in the Cockrell School of Engineering.

Career Fairs

Participating in career fairs helps employers build their presence and name recognition on campus, allows your organization to advertise future on-campus recruiting dates and events and offers an opportunity to talk informally with students about the types of positions available within your organization.

Job Board

Employers unable to participate in on-campus interviews or who have positions they need to fill quickly are encouraged to post jobs to the UT Austin 12twenty@Texas job board used by Cockrell School of Engineering students.

Employers may post full-time and part-time jobs for UT Austin students through 12twenty@Texas, the University’s campus-wide recruiting platform.

  • Posting is a free service available to all approved employer accounts.
  • To post a position, log in to 12twenty@Texas and select “Post a Job” from your dashboard.

Employer Lobby Days

Employer Lobby Day is a recruitment event option for employers interested in early career candidates from the Cockrell School of Engineering. It allows employer representatives to table in our engineering building by providing an in-person opportunity to showcase your company, connect with students and build brand awareness directly in our engineering building.

Event Details

Hours: Monday – Friday, 10:00AM-3:00PM

Booking Process: After a request is submitted via the 12twenty@Texas system, our team will book the space for your preferred dates, process payment and finalize the request in our system. Please expect a confirmation email with further details.
