Telang Academic Achievement Program

Engineering is hard, and every student’s path looks different. The Telang Academic Achievement Program (TAAP) offers individualized academic, personal and career development support for second- and third-year engineering students who want additional accountability and community during their time at Cockrell.
TAAP Into Success
Whether you’re adjusting to advanced coursework, balancing a demanding schedule or looking for strategies to improve academically, the program connects you with trained Peer Academic Coaches and resources designed to help you succeed.
Through TAAP, students have access to one-on-one coaching and check-ins, study support and campus resources to navigate the challenges of engineering school while staying focused on academic and professional goals.
The program is specifically designed for Cockrell School students at different stages of the engineering journey and encourages asking questions, seeking guidance and supporting one another.
TAAP Participants have access to:
- Individual academic coaching
- Study and time-management support
- Peer study sessions and workshops
- Connections to campus resources and opportunities
- Mentorship from fellow engineering students

Want to be a TAAP Coach?
Our dedicated staff hires and trains undergraduate peer coaches who are passionate about mentorship, leadership and helping others thrive.
Peer coaches work directly with other students through regular check-ins, study support and community-building activities while developing valuable leadership, communication and professional skills of their own.
An Academic Coach in our program is a mentor who provides consistent, intentional and personalized support. They can navigate support resources and make recommendations to mentees as necessary. Our coaches are advocates who represent the purpose and requirements of the Telang Academic Achievement Program.

- Cumulative GPA 3.0-4.0 in Good Academic Standing
