Want to be a TAAP Coach?

Our dedicated staff hires and trains undergraduate peer coaches who are passionate about mentorship, leadership and helping others thrive.

Peer coaches work directly with other students through regular check-ins, study support and community-building activities while developing valuable leadership, communication and professional skills of their own.

An Academic Coach in our program is a mentor who provides consistent, intentional and personalized support. They can navigate support resources and make recommendations to mentees as necessary. Our coaches are advocates who represent the purpose and requirements of the Telang Academic Achievement Program.

Required Experience:

  • Student leadership experience (e.g., tutoring, first-year experience mentorship, organizational leadership, etc.)
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time Cockrell Engineering undergraduate student
  • Cumulative GPA 3.0-4.0 in Good Academic Standing

Relevant Experience: Experience with providing guidance and supervision to peers and/or colleagues
