Semester Programs

Cockrell students can spend a full semester or two semesters concurrently abroad, earning at least 12 hours of credit per semester. Our semester programs also provide students opportunities to build a global network, develop their professional skills in a new culture and practice a foreign language.
Exchange Programs
The Cockrell School of Engineering maintains reciprocal exchange agreements with over 35 prestigious universities worldwide. These exchange programs provide a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a global academic environment by studying alongside local students, engaging in cutting-edge research projects or participating in academic or non-academic internships abroad—all while continuing to pay tuition at UT Austin.

Customized Semester Programs
The Cockrell School of Engineering is expanding its portfolio of long-term study abroad programs that combine major-specific coursework with professional internship opportunities. Designed to support student success abroad, these programs include housing, student visa assistance, 24/7 on-site staff support, company visits and excursions to sites of interest for engineering students.
In addition to providing a rewarding global experience, participation in these programs strengthens students’ professional skills and enhances their résumés.
