Held in the fall semester, the Career Development Seminar is an introduction to career skills, including work style preferences, transferable skills and professional development. The seminar also includes basic development in areas such as networking, dining etiquette, interviewing and resumes.
Important things to know about the seminar:
- Course is only offered in the fall semester
- Course meets weekly on Thursdays, 3:30-5:30 PM
- Seminar counts for two credit hours and will be taken pass/fail
- To register, students must have completed one year at The University of Texas at Austin
- Course number is ESS 222
Dynamic speakers from diverse backgrounds lead interactive sessions that stimulate thought-provoking discussion and personal growth. Sessions will introduce concepts such as building confidence and presence, self-marketing and promotion, and much more.
This is a great personal development seminar for second- and third-year engineering students as well as new transfer students.
