Dr. Xiaokun Wang, a former civil engineering doctoral student, has been selected to receive a 2007 Council of University Transportation Centers Pikarsky Award for best Ph.D. dissertation in Science and Technology. Wang’s dissertation developed a model with applications for anticipating land use and air quality changes across Austin. She studied under Dr. Kara Kockelman, associate professor of transportation engineering, at The University of Texas at Austin, and is now an assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Penn.
