Isaac C. Sanchez, professor of chemical engineering, wrote the paper ranked 12th among articles most cited in the 40-year history of the journal Macromolecules. Sanchez co-wrote the article with Robert H. Lacombe, post-doctoral colleague at the University of Massachusetts Entitled “Statistical Thermodynamics of Polymer Solutions” the paper explores transitions at lower critical solution temperatures of polymers and proteins. His findings are widely used by scholars to interpret experimental data on polymer solutions.
Sanchez holds the William J. (Bill) Murray, Jr. Endowed Chair of Engineering.
