Chemical Engineering Professor Dave Allen at The University of Texas at Austin has been named the 2007 Distinguished Lecturer by the Association of Environmental and Engineering Science Professors.

The association selected Allen, who directs the university’s Center for Energy and Environmental Resources, for his engaging speaking skills and distinguished achievements as a researcher and educator.

Allen’s accomplishments include playing a leading role in two major air quality studies in Texas, which have redefined the direction of air-pollution policies in Texas.

As a distinguished lecturer, Allen will speak at 12 U.S. institutions, with expenses paid primarily by the association. Allen holds the the Melvin H. Gertz Regents Chair in Chemical Engineering.
